We have been studying the recommendations very carefully and are pleased to advise the following:
Everyone should ensure they know their immune status and get immunized or boosted if there is any doubt. Exception - anyone who might be pregnant.
In Alberta, you can get your immunization records online using your MyHealth Records account.
Recommended Vaccine Schedule:
- If born in or after 1970: 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine
- If born before 1970: You are considered immune - as the chances you had measles as a child is very high.
However, If you are planning travel outside of Canada or are a post-secondary student: 1 extra dose of MMR vaccine.
If you are travelling out of the country and have questions about your immunity status, please contact your care team.
***If you would like to proceed with a Measles vaccine, please call 811, as this site will connect you with Public Health.
